The value and flexibility of an Aberystwyth degree in Business and Management enables you to select from a diverse range of career options. The programme provides you with the academic, subject-specific, and transferable skills for a career in management, in the world of business and commerce or in the public sector. It also offers you the chance to explore your entrepreneurial potential.

We've designed our degree programmes, in conjunction with employers and with the professional institutes of business and management, to provide a wealth of opportunities for your interests and career aspirations.
Year One
The structure of the first year of the degree programmes is designed to help with the transition from school to university education, where students gain increased independence and take a significant responsibility for their own learning.
The Business and Management degree covers the five fields of study in business:
Strategy: how to make, execute and monitor a Business Plan;
Accounting: keeping track of vital financial information for yourself, your investors and statutory regulators;
Marketing: researching and implementing marketing strategies in a multi-media marketing environment;
Management: motivating and supporting your workforce; team-building and leadership; making tough decisions;
Economics: knowing and assessing general and sector-specific economic trends; identifying opportunities.
Years Two and Three
It’s during your second year that you will create the foundation for the subjects in which you want to specialise, in the second, and more importantly the third, year of your degree. Alongside the mandatory Core Modules, you will choose from a wide range of Option Modules, leading towards the third year Honours Dissertation, in which your specialisms or interests can be investigated to their fullest extent.
During years two and three, as your interests develop and become more sharply focused, you will also have the option of pathways which move from general Business and Management more specifically towards Business Finance, Business Economics or Marketing and Management degrees.
