In Budapest, English is spoken by almost all hotel, restaurant and service staff to an excellent standard and museums have information in English as well as Hungarian.

How many universities: Lots! A firm number is hard to come across as many colleges appear to offer undergraduate study, however, there are about 19 or 20 Universities in Hungary (most in Budapest) that are recognised as the best. Medical degrees are a popular choice for students coming to Budapest to study. See below for more details.

Types of accommodation for students: Various available in the city from private flat rentals to shared dormitories linked to specific universities. Accommodation is very good value in Budapest compared with most other European Cities.

Travel: Getting around Budapest is pretty simple, there is a metro network that is inexpensive to use and functions much like that of Rome or London. There are also trams and buses which tend to be favoured by locals. Walking is also a good option in Budapest as most tourist attractions are close together.

Visas: European citizens don’t need visas to visit Budapest however you do if you’re staying for 90 days or more, you can apply for one before arriving or within 15 days of arrival. See the below link for requirements of obtaining a visa.
