London university offering scholarships to international students

ONE of London's universities is offering scholarships which are specifically aimed at international students and what they can offer.

Applications are currently been accepted for the International Ambassador Scholarships at UWL in UK, 2018.

The University of West London (UWL) is a public university in the United Kingdom which has campuses in Ealing and Brentford in London, as well as in Reading, Berkshire.

The university has roots back to 1860, when the Lady Byron School was founded, which later became Ealing College of Higher Education. In 1990, Ealing College of Higher Education, Thames Valley College of Higher Education, Queen Charlotte’s College of Health Care Studies and the London College of Music merged to form the Polytechnic of West London. In 1992, the Polytechnic of West London became a university and adopted the name Thames Valley University. In 2004, Thames Valley merged with Reading College and School of Arts and Design. A former campus in Slough was closed in 2010.

Details about the scholarship:

• This Scholarship provides a discount for the cost of tuition for the first year of study only.
• The university is looking for exceptional candidates who have a proven academic and achievement record and who will make a major contribution to the university and to the wider global community.
• Undergraduate, Graduate or Postgraduate Students in all academic disciplines from international backgrounds are welcome to apply.  

Scholarships are worth up to £5,000. The scholarship provides a discount against the cost of tuition for the first year of study only.

As an international ambassador, you will get to contribute from time to time in the promotion of the University of West London by supporting events organized for scholars or by the International Office.
You will get to participate in current and future promotional activities and will be interviewed and photographed by the marketing department.

Details about eligibility: 

• An offer holder for an undergraduate or postgraduate course at UWL, to commence study in September 2018. This means, you must have already applied for a course of study at this University and you must have already received an official offer from one of our Admissions Officers
• A self-funded overseas full fee-paying paying student (please note: EU applicants are not eligible).
• The International Ambassador Scholarship will be awarded on a competitive basis to candidates who demonstrate enthusiasm and the ability to be an excellent international student ambassador.
